About

Cook attends college at the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts emphasis in metals and jewelry in spring of 2020.
In her current body of work Cook uses small scale sculptural metalwork to express her view on life and our relationships with each other. She is interested in how people relate to each other and what prevents us from communicating in a meaningful way.
Cook’s metalwork has been shown in museums and galleries across the Midwest. Her brooch titled Don’t Touch Me received the Watkins and Yassenoff Award for Excellence at the Ohio Craft Museum’s Best of 2019 national exhibition and was featured on their poster. In 2019 she was awarded the Society of North American Goldsmith’s Educational Endowment Scholarship and the Midwest Metalsmith’s Merit Scholarship in 2019 and 2020. Most recently, her sculpture Pierced received the Phil Chmura Memorial Award at the Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Muskegon Art Museum. She lives and works in Southwest Michigan.
